Kota Kinabalu: FIREMEN were called in to help catch a 12-foot python found inside the compound of SJK (C) Chung Hwa in Kampung Air, Kota Kinabalu, on Thursday.

According to Kota Kinabalu Fire Station Chief Ariffin Harris, they received a distress call from the school at 8.19am and within a few minutes they managed to catch the reptile.

The snake was spotted by a Primary One pupil slithering near the bushes by the basketball court at the school.

Ariffin said teachers also told them that some of the pupils had also seen snakes at the abandoned construction project site nearby the school.

The snake was released into the jungle elsewhere by the firemen.
