Teacher killed in Tawau crash

Tawau: A 32-year-old school teacher was killed when her Perodua Myvi collided with a three-tonne lorry laden with fish at Mile 19, Jalan Bukit Quion, here, Saturday.

District Police Chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah said Suzaiyana Dewi Suroto , who taught in a primary school in Semporna, succumbed to serious head injuries and died on the spot in the 5.30am incident.

He said the 55-year-old lorry driver was heading from Kg Bukit Quion to here, while Suzaiyana came from the opposite direction at a bend near the scene.

He called on any individual who may have witnessed the incident to contact Sgt. David Charles Michel at the police station here.

Fire and Rescue personnel took them 30 minutes to extricate the body of Suzaiyana from her vehicle.
