It was a disappointing match for Sabah as fans expected them to thrash KL SPA, or at least emerge with a one-nil win to make up for last Monday's second consecutive draw against DRB Hicom.
Both teams made equal attempts at the goal, but Sabah had a slight possession advantage with 54 percent and KL SPA having 46 percent recorded by Astro Arena.
However, Sabah's closest chance to the goal was Mohd Ezaidy Mohd Khadar's header that met the pole, after Isma Alif B Mohd Salim's cross on the 20th minute and Marwan Sayedeh was unable to capitalise the second chance.
Sabah made their first substitution on the 21st minute when Julamri Muhammad suffered a leg injury and Rawilson Batuil was brought into the field.
In the 30th minute, the first of three yellow cards was shown to KL SPA's Khairul Izwan B Khalid after fouling Sabah's Captain, Rosdin B Wasli.
The second half saw Sabah substituting Mohd Farid B Ideris with Zainizam Marjan.
Rosdin tried to capitalise on Mitrovic's Srecko's free kick that deflected off KL SPA's defense wall but ended up in keeper Mahathir Mohamad's gloves.
The second yellow card of the match was shown to KL SPA's Muhd Fikri Elhan on the 52nd minute after he fouled Ezaidy and the third yellow card was shown on the 83rd minute to KL SPA's Puvanarajah A/L Arumugam.
Sabah's next match will be against Johor Darul Takzim II on March 28, which will also be played in Likas Stadium.
