Published on: Saturday, March 22, 2014

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Publishing House Sdn Bhd (SPH) Managing Director, Datuk Clement Yeh, was bestowed an honorary 4th Dan Karate Black Belt on Friday.

According to Karate Koi KK Sabah Association President, Loh Beng Hooi, the conferment was supposed to be a surprise during the closing ceremony of the KK City Day Karate Open, but Yeh, who is the association's special adviser, was unable to attend.

"We understand that Yeh was away on a business trip at the time so now we set up an appointment with him to report on the recently ended tournament as well to present him with the honorary 4th Dan. Our committee decided to present it as a token of our appreciation for all his support to the association," said Loh.

Yeh, meanwhile, said that it was an honour for him to receive the honorary 4th Dan after having received the 3rd Dan last year.

"I would like to thank Loh and the committee members for this great honour and I am glad to see that this association has been working hard to develop karate in Sabah. This is proven through their successful activities including the recently concluded KK City Day Karate Open," said Yeh.

Thereafter, Yeh also presented the honorary 2nd Dan to committee members Mohd Tajuddin Mohd Nor and Angus Wong, while Ricky Foo Ken Hiung received the honorary 3rd Dan and Samson Indran was presented his 3rd Dan.
