Kota Kinabalu: The ugly sight of the rubbish cubicle in the Sabah Housing and Town Development Authority (LPPB) low cost flats in Kepayan Ridge has caused much concern among the residents here, said Luyang Assemblyman Office Special Assistant Andrew Lee.

He said residents have informed him that some people here don't even want to throw the rubbish into the dustbins provided in the cubicle but prefer to place the rubbish on the roof of the facility.

Lee went for an inspection and found that the complaints were true.

"There were few bags of rubbish sitting on top of the roof of the garbage cubicle.

"City Hall garbage truck workers seem reluctant and refuse to clear the rubbish off the roof due to rubbish bags always appearing on the roof."

Lee called upon the residents here to be helpful and considerate when they throw their rubbish bags into the bins.

"If you missed the bins, please be kind enough to go and pick it up and place it into the bins provided.

It is bad to place rubbish outside the cubicle because it is difficult for the workers to clear it for you.

So when you want to throw rubbish, please make sure you throw it correctly."

Lee congratulated the people in the Kepayan Ridge LPPB low cost housing for keeping the place clean and not throwing the rubbish everywhere.

"The place looks cleaner now after the gotong royong cleaning exercise carried out by the Luyang Assemblyman Office few weeks ago.

The public there should help to maintain the surrounding."
