Politeknik KK produces 16,379 grads to date

Kota Kinabalu: Politeknik Kota Kinabalu has produced 16,379 diploma graduates in various fields since its inception 18 years ago.

The latest were 1,442 students who graduated during the institute's 18th convocation that was officiated by Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman at Nexus Resort and Spa, Karambunai near here Saturday.

Musa in his speech assured that the State Government always supported efforts to produce human capital.

Congratulating the graduating students of Politeknik Kota Kinabalu, he attributed the success partially to the support of their parents and commitment of the teaching staff of the institute.

In this respect, he called on parents and teachers to continue working hand-in-hand in ensuring their children excel in their studies.

Among those present were Director General of Polytechnic Department, Malaysia, Datuk Haji Mohlis Jaafar and Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic's director, Haji Wan Mohd Nasir Wan Abdul Rahman.

The convocation continued today (Sunday) with the Head of State's wife, Toh Puan Norlidah Datuk R M Jasni and Politeknik Department Director General, Datuk Mohlis Jaafar presenting the scrolls.
