Kota Kinabalu: The State Government and people of Sabah expressed sadness over the fate of Flight MH370.

Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin extended his sympathies to the families of the passengers and crew of Flight MH370, which was confirmed to have gone down in the southern Indian Ocean.

In a statement from Istana Negeri, Juhar said he and his family were saddened and hoped the families would remain calm in facing the calamity.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman described the incident as a tragedy that touched the hearts of Malaysians and world citizens.

"We hope the families of the passengers and crew of Flight MH370 will continue to be patient and be strong in facing the difficult period," he said.

He said the hearts and prayers of all Malaysians are with them.
