Kota Kinabalu: Special Tasks Minister Datuk Teo Chee Kang on Sunday refused to be dragged into the Liberation Democratic Party (LDP) faction's election of Datuk VK Liew as the president of the party.Liew's camp held a special party conference in Sandakan on Saturday where delegates elected the president, deputy president and supreme council members for the 2013-2018 term.

However, the Registrar of Societies (RoS) through a letter early this year stated that everything was proper during the party election held last year where Teo was elected as the new president uncontested.

"I will not allow myself to be disturbed by this political stunt.

Therefore, I do not see it necessary to comment," said Teo.

Nonetheless, Teo wanted Merotai Assemblyman Datuk Pang Yuk Ming to clarify whether he consented to be "nominated and elected" in the Sandakan party election.

Pang, who was announced as being elected as LDP deputy president, was not present at the Liew camp's party election.
