Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's junior squad had to settle for a 2-3 loss against Perak at Penampang Stadium, Monday, ending their dream of making the top four in Group B of the President Cup.It was a highly intense match as Sabah were feeling the pressure of the possibility of not making the quarter-finals of the national Under-21 league as only the top four teams of each group will go through.Perak took the lead when Captain Md Rafiq Faeez headed their first goal in the 22nd minute, but Sabah were able to bring the scores to 1-1 through O'Neil Shanahan 10 minutes later.ADVERTISEMENT Sabah's hopes of a possibility to take the lead was quickly short-lived when the visiting team scored their second goal courtesy of Mohd Adzem Mansor only three minutes later. The second goal from Perak was the fruit of a misunderstanding between Sabah's keeper, Rendy Robson and the defenders.Perak then closed the books after Khairul Asyraf's stunning net-hitting shot two minutes into the second half.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
