Taxi driver hurt in collision

Sandakan: A middle-aged taxi driver was rushed to the hospital after his taxicab was rammed by an old model Toyota Corolla in a four-vehicle pile-up at Mile 4, Northern Ring Road, Monday.It was learnt that the injured man was heading to the airport when the mishap occurred at the intersection in front of Maybank at about 10am.The Toyota driven by a 70-year-old man, rear-ended the taxi, resulting in two other vehicles in front of the taxi, an Isuzu D-Max and a Perodua Kancil, also being hit.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The taxi driver who was trapped in his seat was rescued by firemen and subsequently taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital by an ambulance, where he was reported to be in a stable condition.The Toyota driver was still in a state of shock after the incident which caused a massive traffic congestion along the stretch.
