Long term Sapura-Airbus cooperation

Kuala Lumpur: Sapura Secured Technologies and Airbus Defence and Space have signed a Collaboration Agreement to establish long-term cooperation in the field of C4ISR (Command, Control,Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance). It includes the joint development of key products in the field of planning and data fusion systems for Armed Forces digitalisation and commercialisation in the Asia Pacific (APAC) market.

Sapura Secured Technologies Chief Executive Officer Zarif Hashim said the collaboration would enable the company to leverage on the proven C4ISR technology of Airbus Defence and Space to develop world class solutions for its customers.

"Our joint development activities will reinforce Sapura's leadership in advanced engineering technology and system integration competency, to aggregate multiple systems and information onto one intelligent and interactive operational platform," he said in a statement Wednesday.

Sapura Secured Technologies is part of Sapura Group, which operates in more than 15 countries with annual revenue of about US$2 billion.

It provides solutions and services to defence and security, law enforcement, public safety and first responder agencies.

Airbus Defence and Space Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Christian Scherer said the agreement has confirmed the company's strategy and ambition for cooperation with strategic partners in Malaysia. - Bernama
