Support efforts to pursue progress: CM

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has called on all layers of society to support the Government's efforts to pursue progress for the people, especially in this challenging times.He said the most important thing now was the spirit of cooperation, support and commitment of all quarters towards the Government, including from the Chinese community.

Musa said the commitment from the community will assist the pursuit of progress, prosperity and peace in Malaysia, especially in Sabah.

"This year has seen some difficulties for our country.

The incident of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and the recent kidnapping in Semporna are challenges that our nation is facing.

"I am confident that if we stand united, we will be able to overcome some of the difficulties that we are facing now," he said when attending a dinner in conjunction with 40th anniversary and 21st oath-taking ceremony of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Sabah and Labuan, at Dewan Hakka, here, Friday night.

On behalf of the Sabah Government, Musa also recorded his appreciation to the Chinese community and acknowledged their role in the development of Malaysia and of Sabah in various fields, including through the economic sector.
