Kota Kinabalu: The inaugural Kota Kinabalu City Waterfront sunset performance on Saturday organised by the Luyang State Assemblyman Office was a resounding success.

Three Chinese secondary school brass and Chinese musical bands from SM Shan Tao, Kian Kok Middle School and Tshung Tsin Secondary School in the city performed in front of the big crowd comprising tourists and locals.

Each school band really demonstrated their fine musical talents and skills, said Luyang Assemblyman, Hiew King Cheu.

"The brass band from SM Shan Tao had presented some beautifully set musical numbers, and their teachers with the school principal, Lee Wah Ban were present to assist with the performance.

"The Kian Kok Middle School presented the beautiful tones with their Chinese musical instruments, and the highlight was the presentation of the local KadazanDusun songs. "The brass band from Tshung Tsin Secondary School presented high quality numbers.

"This band recently represented the school to perform in Japan with their high standard of musical skills," he said.

Hiew said the event received a very good all round comments and that it has added to the colour of the city.
