Breast cancer awareness forum in S'kan

Sandakan: The Sandakan Kinabalu Pink Ribbon (KPR) and Hospital Duchess of Kent will co-organise a public forum on Breast Cancer and Breast Health Awareness In conjunction with Mother's Day at Sabah Hotel on May 10.

Chairperson of the KPR branch, Mary Alex Mansiw-Tek said breast surgeon and specialist Dr Azlina Firzah Abdul Aziz from Pantai Hospital, Kuala Lumpur will be speaking at the forum.

Batu Sapi MP, Datuk Linda Tsen Thau Lin, will officiate at the event.

Among the activities during the event are donation to breast cancer patients, demonstration on breast self examination, Mother's Day cake cutting, door gifts for all participants and flowers for mothers, lucky draw and Zumba.

"This is an ongoing effort to create greater awareness on early detection of breast cancer amidst the increasing rate of breast cancer incidents today," Mary said.

She said it is also to promote better support and outreach for breast cancer patients and their families.

Sabah Hotel and IJM Plantations Berhad are sponsors.
