The competition held at Sri Sulaman hall was won by Papar's Marhaban team whereas third place went to the Kota Kinabalu Marhaban team.
All team winners received their prizes from the Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Haji Hajiji Haji Mohd Noor who officiated at the event.
"We are delighted with winning the second spot because our team was assembled and trained for only a month," said Kent's trainer cum lecturer, Sabariah Haji Bahrun.
The group, whose adviser is the institute's director, Datuk Mary Teresa Kinajil, had won first place in the District Level Muslim Art Festival Marhaban Competition on March 24 as well as second place in the Nasyid competition.
According to Sabariah, they had also been participating actively in the Muslim Education Public Speaking Competition.
"We even won first place in the national level as well as second place in the international level held in Brunei last March," she said.
Sabariah hoped that the team would be able to win first place in next year's State Level Marhaban Competition.
