Drivers escape unhurt in mishaps

Kota Kinabalu: A man escaped unscathed when the Toyota four-wheel-drive he was driving skidded and keeled over near Taman Jaya Diri in Telipok when he tried to avoid hitting a lorry on Saturday.

It was learnt that the man, in his 50s, was heading towards the Sepanggar direction when an overtaking lorry suddenly cut into his lane in the 3.30pm incident.

This caused the man to lose control of his vehicle, causing it to swerve, skid and land on its side near the road divider.

In a separate incident, a Proton Wira driver, in his 20s, also escaped unhurt when he lost control of the vehicle which ended up on the road divider railing near the Fire and Rescue Academy along Jalan Sulaman at 3.30pm on Friday.

He was assisted by passersby and traffic police who arrived later.
