Woman injured after attack by snatch thief

Kota Kinabalu: A 49-year-old woman sustained injuries to her chin after she was attacked by a snatch thief near the Open University along Jalan Kepayan, here, Thursday.

It was learnt that the woman had just withdrawn RM200 from a bank and was walking towards her vehicle about 1pm when she was approached by the thief who slashed her on the chin and fled on a motorcycle mounted by his accomplice.

The woman was said to be returning to her workplace in Yu Sang at Kepayan.

Photos of the injured woman went viral over social media after an individual claiming to be her daughter posted it on Facebook. City Police Chief ACP Jauteh Dikun confirmed the incident but did not elaborate.
