Kota Kinabalu: An elderly man sustained slight injuries when he reversed his Rav4 vehicle into the fence of his neighbour's single terrace house in Jalan Sentosa, Luyang Phase 7, here, Wednesday.

The man, identified only as 70-year-old Wong, was in the vehicle with his wife, in her 60s, who sat on the front passenger seat.

She also sustained slight injuries to her arm.

The man was said to have started the engine and reversed the vehicle straight into the fence of his neighbour, causing the fence to fall and damaged several flower pots which belonged to his neighbour.

The impact also caused a Proton Saga vehicle, which was parked in another neighbour's house, to get scratched.

In another incident, a family escaped unscathed when the Vigo four-wheel-drive vehicle they were travelling in crashed into a Myvi near Iramanis along Jalan Kolombong on Tuesday night.

It was learnt that there were four adults and two children inside the Vigo, including its 44-year-old woman driver who had just arrived from Tawau on Monday.

It was said that they had just exited a petrol kiosk along Jalan Kolombong and instead of going into the slow lane, the driver cut straight into the fast lane where the Myvi was.

The 28-year-old Myvi driver was said to be heading towards Penampang from Kg Cenderamata, Likas and failed to avoid crashing into the Vigo which suddenly cut into his lane in the 11.45pm incident.

The impact caused the Vigo to lose one its front wheels, while the Myvi skidded and crashed into the road divider.

They were assisted by passersby and traffic police personnel who arrived later.
