Kota Kinabalu: A Kancil vehicle was split in two in an accident but miraculously the driver escaped with only minor injuries at the Bukit Padang traffic light junction, here, Saturday.

The 24-year-old man claimed he was heading towards Tenghilan in Tuaran and decided to take the old route from Jalan Kolam when his vehicle collided with a Toyota Vios at about 4.50am.

The Vios' 27-year-old driver, who also sustained slight injuries, was said to be heading towards Kolombong from the Lintas direction.

The impact of the collision caused the Kancil to split from one end to the other with its back portion thrown some 50 metres away, close to a shoplot nearby.
