14 foreign women employed as masseurs held in LD raid

Lahad Datu: Fourteen women from the Philippines and Thailand employed as masseurs were detained during a raid on a reflexology outlet, here, Thursday night.District Police Chief ACP Shamsudin Mat said the women, aged between 20 and 30, were nabbed in the raid conducted by the District Crime Investigation Department.

Shamsudin said four male workers were also nabbed during the 11.30pm raid.

He said all the individuals were detained for suspected vice-related activities and abusing their social visit passes.

"Upon receiving information from the public, the police launched a special operation known as Ops Noda and raided the reflexology centre.

"All of them were taken to the district police headquarters for further investigation," he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 372B of the Penal Code and Section 39(b) Immigration Regulations 1963.
