Get close to the people, CM tells all elected reps
Published on: Sunday, July 06, 2014

Sandakan: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman urged all elected representatives in the State to go down to the ground more often.

He said this was to prove that going down the ground is not a seasonal thing for the Barisan Nasional (BN), especially when it is near election time.

"This is our way, by continuing to go down the ground and listening to the pulse of the people and their needs," he said, adding that it was very important for leaders at the grassroots level to get close to the people and listen to their grouses.

Speaking at the handing over of Ramadan contributions at Surau As-Salam, Kampung Sungai Obar, Mile 7, here, Saturday, Musa also called on leaders of all levels to hold more people-orientated programmes and give assistance to those in need.

At the event, 810 people, including the poor, physically challenged, single mothers, orphans and senior citizens, received the contribution.

Also on hand were Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris, Libaran MP Datuk Juslie Ajirol and local community leaders.
