Semporna: Residents in the district have been assured that there was no reason to panic over the imposition of the curfew by the Government in the East Coast of Sabah.
Sulabayan State Assemblyman Datuk Jaujan Sambakong said the move was timely, in the interest of security in the area.
He also urged residents to give their full cooperation to the security forces and abide by their instructions.
"We must also play our role as the eyes and ears of the Government by channelling any information on elements that try to threaten public order, particularly the entry of illegal immigrants," he told reporters after breaking fast at Pulau Bumbum, near here, Friday night. He explained that the curfew would not involve every area or the whole time as to totally restrict residents from going out of their house.
