22 illegals held in Tenom operation

Tenom: Twenty-two illegal immigrants were detained during an operation conducted in the district and have since been sent to the Temporary Detention Centre for deportation. District Police Chief DSP Mohd Firdaus Abdullah said people do not have to worry when it comes to security issues because the situation is under control and that police will continue to conduct operations. He said this during the launching of the district-level "Ops Selamat" in conjunction with the Raya festivities, here, Thursday.

He also reminded those leaving their homes vacant during the festive period to inform the police and to fill in the forms prepared for that purpose.Also present was Tenom Chinese Chamber of Commerce President Yong Chun Ngee and local community leaders, among others.
