The man, identified as Simon Biris, from Penampang, was said to be heading towards Likas Plaza from Donggongon township when the accident occurred at about 3.30am.
Kota Kinabalu LC Crew President, Rusdi Saelih, said the man was a member of their club and that he was supposed to meet up with eight other members for sahur at Likas Plaza.
"He sent us a message via WhatsApp at about 3.22am, telling us that he was on the way but he never showed up," he said, adding that they were informed of the accident at 4am.
"We were supposed to meet up before our four friends left for Lahad Datu for their Raya holidays," he claimed, adding that Simon worked with a company in Kolombong as an office boy sending air-conditioner spare parts.
It was learnt that the motorcycle collided with the MyVi driven by a 26-year-old man who was with his 22-year-old wife who sustained injuries to her face and shoulder.
