Kota Kinabalu: The Vigo vehicle which was hijacked with three boys inside was found abandoned near some bushes along Jalan Minintod, at 11pm, Friday. A civilian who did not want to be identified claimed he was driving along the route when he saw a vehicle parked in the bushes, prompting him to alert the police. It was learnt that the vehicle had a different registration plate number.

However, further inspections showed that the road tax displayed on the windscreen of the vehicle had the same registration number as the stolen Vigo.

The Vigo was reported missing by a 30-year-old woman who parked the vehicle at the Tamu ground in Menggatal leaving her three sons, aged 10, five and four in the rear seat.
The boys were reunited with their mother barely an hour later after the culprit dropped them off at a bus stop near the traffic lights before speeding off.
