It was learnt that the 64-year-old Isuzu owner parked his vehicle at the roadside after it got a flat tyre at about 10.10am.
"I called my daughter who took me to a mechanic to get my tyre fixed only to return to find it damaged," he claimed.
The injured Proton Perdana driver was subsequently taken to the hospital by paramedics who arrived later.
In another accident, a Myvi driver in his 30s escaped unscathed when his vehicle crashed into a divider near the Sembulan roundabout here.
The man claimed that he was heading towards Sembulan from Penampang when another vehicle suddenly cut into his lane towards Tanjung Aru resulting in him crashing his Myvi into the divider in the 4am incident.
