Sabahan to head T'gganu Customs

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Customs Deputy Director (Enforcement and Compliance) Hamzah Sundang became the first Sabahan to hold the post of director in West Malaysia following his appointment as Terengganu Customs Department Director this month.

The 56-year-old Tenghilan-born officer will be reporting for duty on Aug 18 in Kuala Terengganu.

"I am grateful for this opportunity and I will always remember the fond memories of serving the people in Sabah and I thank you all for the cooperation you have given me throughout my 30 year service here," he said. Hamzah said this to a group of Customs officers during a handing over of duty ceremony here, Monday.

Also present to witness the ceremony was Customs Department Director Datuk Janathan Kandok.

Customs Assistant Director (Enforcement and Compliance) Madrim Tasan will be assuming duties as acting deputy director until further notice.
