Kota Kinabalu: The body of a newborn baby boy was discovered at the Kayu Madang landfill site in Menggatal here, on Wednesday. City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said the Menggatal Police Station received a call from a civilian alerting them of the discovery at about 8.05am. "Our team went to the scene and found the naked fully formed body of the baby among the pile of rubbish," he said, adding that preliminary investigations showed that there were blue marks on the baby's head.

"The baby is believed to have died over the past 24 hours however the cause of death is still being investigated," he added.

Chandra said no arrest has been made so far. In February this year, the decomposed body of a baby girl was also discovered in a makeshift wooden hut at the same location.
