Kota Kinabalu: Two men, both aged 25, were killed in separate road accidents here, Monday.

The first involved a motorcycle and a four-wheel-drive near Km13 along Jalan Sapulut-Donggongon-Tambunan here. The impact caused the 25-year-old motorcyclist to sustain severe head and bodily injuries, killing him on the spot.

The victim's 18-year-old sister, who arrived at the scene after being alerted of the accident, identified him as Kent Julius Moludi, the eldest of five siblings.

"My brother worked as motorcycle mechanic and he was a very responsible brother, he always made time to fetch me from my workplace in Megalong even though he is busy," said his sister who declined to be named. The last time she saw him was at about 12am when he left home to meet a friend.

Penampang Police Chief DSP Ratan Kumar Singh said preliminary investigations showed that the four-wheel-drive driven by a 32-year-old man was heading towards Donggongon, while the motorcyclist came from the opposite direction when the collision occurred at about 12.15am.

The second accident involved a Viva which crashed into a container left at an empty space near Kg. Kasigui along Jalan Sapulut-Donggongon-Tambunan at about 2.30am.

The impact caused the victim to sustain a serious fracture to his skull and was pronounced dead on the spot by paramedics who arrived later.

The victim's younger sister who was also at the scene identified him as Mark Carlson Wilfred Modoit, the second of six siblings.

She said her brother worked with Telekom and that they stayed in the same house in Pogunon located some seven kilometers from Donggongon town.

Ratan said early investigations showed that the man was heading towards Donggongon from Tambunan when he lost control of the vehicle.
