SABAH Transborneo Sabah Coordinator Anuar Ghani urged the Government to reintroduce the Feri Malaysia service as a means to encourage Malaysians and Singaporeans and others from South East Asia to travel to Sabah, Sarawak, Kalimantan and Brunei as a national integration and Bimp Eaga advancement tool. "The various countries in Borneo must facilitate faster and free travel between the various components."The ferry made the first Trans Borneo possible. The Malaysian and Indonesian governments should consider linking up the final offroad sector form Tg Selor, Malinau, Simanggaris to Serundung. It is about 220km, this is the final missing link to make road travel around the whole of Borneo possible.

"This will require initiative from the Indonesian side as it is on their side of the fence. The Sabah Government can approach Wisma Putra to discuss the construction of this final link.
Once this is open then there will be an explosion of road travel and tourism in Borneo. "This is inevitable. There also needs to be a border crossing point on Serundung similar to the Sindumin/Lawas border point.
