Kota Kinabalu: Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir joined church leaders in a ceremony here to bless the City, State and country on Sunday. The event entitled 'A Day to Bless Malaysia' (ADTBM), held at Holy Seal 611 Bread of Life Church in City Mall, saw more than 100 people attending.

Madingkir, in his speech, also called for blessings on the government leaders for wisdom and courage to govern and lead, prosperity, security, a low crime rate, racial unity and religious harmony for Kota Kinabalu City.

According to ADTBM Event Organising Chairman Pastor Steven Choon, they have proposed Sept 14-16 for prayers to bless Malaysia and have asked all churches in Sabah to pray on these days and to bless the country during the regular Sunday services.

This was in response to the challenges faced by the country of late including religious tension, Lahad Datu intrusion and kidnappings and the recent loss of the Malaysia Airlines flights MH370 and MH17.

Also present were Holy Seal 611 bread of Life Church senior pastor Rev Chong Fatt Kong and Sabah Injil Borneo (SIB) President Rev Datuk Jerry Dusing.
