KOTA KINABALU: Some 100 staff of Standard Chartered Bank along Jalan Pantai here vacated the premises after its management was notified that smoke was emitting from a transformer behind the building at 10.40am on Thursday (pic) – the second fire scare involving a bank in the area within 24 hours.The maintenance team of the bank building immediately shut off the transformer as a precaution and repair work was carried out.Three fire engines and three motorcycles manned by 20 firefighters were dispatched to the scene when they alerted at 10.45am.
