Three Filipinas denies breaching condition of visit passes

Kota Kinabalu: Three Filipinas claimed trial at the Sessions Court to breaching the condition of their visit passes by working at an entertainment outlet here.Irene Organia, 34, Ratchell Casinas Mcveyhally, 36, Caridad Mediteranero Julian, 28, allegedly committed the offence by working as waitresses/guest relations officers at the Hang Over Karaoke and Fun Pun in Damai Plaza, Luyang at 12.30am on Sept 6.The offence, under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 provides for a fine of up to RM1,000 or up to six months' jail or to both on conviction.ADVERTISEMENT Judge Azreena Aziz set Sept 23 for case management and offered the women bail at RM4,000 with RM2,000 deposited in two sureties each.The women were represented by counsel Amli Nohin.Meanwhile, 12 Filipinos aged between 18 and 44 were jailed for illegal entry.They were Khar Kairul, Airon Sumilhati, Syarifzul Ali, Adrian Salbonie, Azreel Haking, Ling Samlah, Romi Sahak, Abdul Wali Mihih Omar, Jara Sahak, Sarip Kiram Omar, Ajis Abdullah and Salim Abdullah.ADVERTISEMENT The 12 were arrested by police at separate locations in the city, Lok Kawi, Papar and Kota Belud between Aug 24 and Sept 15.Khar, Syarifzul, Adrian, Azreel, Sarip, were handed five months each, while Airon, Ling, Romi, Abdul Wali, Jara, Ajis and Salim were each jailed four months.
