KENINGAU: Luyang Assemblyman Hiew King Chew said the Dato Angian Andulag Hall here has been out of service for many years due to the seriously damaged interior caused by vandalism and a lack of maintenance. "The damages include the torn down performance stage, stolen electrical wiring and lighting, seriously leaking roof, broken glass doors and broken floor finishing," he said.

Hiew was brought to view the damages in the community hall by MCA Keningau Division Chairman Jack Chen Siong Yee with Apin Apin community leaders.

"The hall is no longer usable by the local community due to its bad condition. There is an urgent need for the community hall to be restored because there is no other hall available for use in the Apin Apin area."

The local community leaders urged Hiew to assist in this issue and to bring up the case with the local government, and especially to the attention of the Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Hajiji Noor.

Hiew promised the people that he will work on this with the ministry concerned to get the hall ready again.
