TENOM: Villagers in Pangi here should not worry about the needs of the village because the government is always striving to fulfil their aspirations and needs.Rural Development Minister, Datuk Radin Malleh, said this at the launching of the Keningau FM Jejak Masyarakat programme at Kg Pangi.

The government, he said, is always concerned over the needs of the people especially on infrastructure in rural areas.

Citing the train service, he said that he wrote a letter to the State Railway Department to ensure that the train service included Pangi in its route.

Radin, during the event, also visited the site where a bridge was washed away by recent floods and a hardcore poor family in the village.

Meanwhile, Tenom District Officer Madiyem Layapan said that it is very important for the villagers to ensure their cultures are maintained.

He said that he would apply through the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry for a cultural house to be built in Pangi and also accommodation facility for the tourists.

On the other hand, Pangi Village Chief, Udin Bakiwoh, said the request for a clinic in Pangi was approved by the Health Ministry in 2012 but that until now it has yet to be constructed.
