Man is fined RM2,000 for assaulting brother

KOTA KINABALU: A 32-year-old Dusun man who punched and kicked his brother was fined RM2,000 or spend six months in prison.Nazel Rubin pleaded guilty before Magistrate Ryan Sagirann Rayner Jr to assaulting Adika Rubin, 23, at 1.30am on July 18 this year at a house in Kg Tanjung Aru Lama, here.The offence under Section 323 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to one year, or fine, or both on conviction.

In begging for a lenient sentence, Nazel told the court that he has three children and parents to look after, but Prosecuting Officer Chief Inspector Lim Swee Beng asked for an appropriate sentence.
