INCHEON: Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said squash and wushu have met the gold medal target set by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM)."The gold medals from squash and wushu are in our plans. I hope that we can keep the momentum and exceed our target," he said when met at Yeorumul Squash Courts here, Tuesday.

The OCM has set an eight gold medal target for the Malaysian contingent to 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

Khairy was present to see Malaysia sweep the women's singles squash to win the gold and silver medals.

As predicted, Datuk Nicol David won the gold medal after beating compatriot Low Wee Wern, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5, 12-10.

The win in Incheon is Nicol's fifth Asian Games gold medal since Bangkok (1998), Doha (2006) and Guangzhou (2010). -Bernama
