KUALA LUMPUR: Tokyo's legendary 124 year-old Imperial Hotel, Ltd. is set to open its first full-service Southeast Asian sales office in Singapore on Wednesday, Oct 1. The sales office is located at Robinson Road and would be headed by the hotel's former Asian Market General Manager Shohei Sekido, said a statement issued in Tokyo, Japan.

The move is to reinforce the premier hotel's marketing efforts within the increasingly important ASEAN region.

Acknowledging the remarkable economic growth of Singapore and the neighboring Southeast Asian markets, where visa requirements for Japan have been relaxed, the Imperial's Singapore office will focus on sales activities directed at affluent individual travelers and a broad corporate market.

The hotel also hoped to increase sales of international conferences, seminars, regional government assemblies and incentive travel to Japan, the statement said. – Bernama
