10 get Sara 1M'sia account book in S'kan

SANDAKAN: Ten participants of Skim Amanah Rakyat 1Malaysia (Sara 1Malaysia/Skim) received their respective Amanah Saham 1Malaysia (AS 1Malaysia) account book here Monday. They were among the 650 people in Sandakan who qualified to receive Sara 1Malaysia, involving an accumulated total of RM3.25 million.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman officiated at the presentation, which was also witnessed by PNB President and Group Chief Executive Tan Sri Datuk Sri Hamad Kama Piah Che Othman.

Sara 1Malaysia, introduced in January 2012, is a government initiative through the Finance Ministry to assist in dealing with the impact of high cost of living, apart from implanting the culture of savings among the people.The scheme is targeting the participation of 100 qualified households to receive RM5,000 loans per participant. Some RM500 million has been allocated for the purpose.Until Sept 18 this year, 78,638 participants from throughout the country had participated in this scheme and 4,045 of them are in Sabah.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
