KOTA KINABALU: Land acquisition problems have been delaying plans to construct a temporary detour at Jalan Bantayan-Minintod which was damaged by landslips recently."I hope the Land and Survey Department will cooperate to solve this problem as we had submitted a proposal to them earlier," said Public Works Department Director Datuk John Anthony. The construction, according to him would affect part of the land owned by a private owner.

"We are not sure when will process will be completed as it is now up to the Land and survey Department," he said on Monday.

The Bantayan-Minitod road had on Oct 11 suffered two landslips necessitating a detour at the side of the damaged road to be constructed as a temporary measure.

The feeder road connects Country Heights in Penampang to Kolombong and Inanam besides being an ideal route to bypass the heavy traffic along Lintas Road.

Meanwhile, there were several complaints from residents at Country Heights with few stating they had to go through Jalan Khidmat in order to send their children to school at SK Kolombong and SMK Kolombong.
