Immigration Dept waiting for decision on RM200 incentive

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) has submitted a proposal paper to the Public Service Department (PSD) to give an incentive of RM200 monthly to all its enforcement personnel. JIM director-general Datuk Aloyah Mamat said the department was waiting for a decision on the matter from PSD. He said this when commenting on the request of the Peninsula Malaysia Immigration Service Union (KPISM) which wanted a special incentive for its personnel performing enforcement duties.KPISM president Khairil Nisa Khairuddin claimed, until to date, JIM personnel and officers were not enjoying any special incentive when carrying out enforcement duties like other enforcement agencies.

Aloyah said some of the matter raised by KPISM were already in PSD's plans and also being acted upon by the department. "To boost the level of professionalism of personnel and training facilities, JIM has received an allocation of RM3 million for a forensic laboratory at the Malaysian Immigration Academy in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan," she said.
