CM: Seniors welfare given attention

KINABATANGAN: Every year the Government provides a big allocation to relevant ministries and departments as well as senior citizen associations to enable the elderly to enjoy a comfortable life.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said RM1.2 billion was allocated in the 2015 Budget as financial assistance to poor families, children, senior citizens and the disabled."In the last state budget, the State Government has also provided a big allocation for social welfare programmes based on productive welfare involving senior citizens, children and the disabled," he said at the state level Senior Citizens Day celebration, here, Tuesday.ADVERTISEMENT His text of speech was read by Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The event was attended by Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Norlida R.M. Jasni.Earlier, Jainab, in her speech, said 30,704 senior citizens in Sabah received financial aid involving RM 90,747 up till October this year.
