SANDAKAN: Elopura community development leader, Chan Tzun Hei, together with operators in the Sedco industrial area here sent a memorandum to the Energy Commission recently. The memorandum urged the commission to settle the illegal connection problem in the area fast.

The group also said it would send a copy of the memorandum to the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) and Sandakan Municipal Council.

The SESB, in the past, had conducted disconnection of illegal power lines in the area concerned. But it wasn't successful because as soon as they moved from the area, the perpetrators were back carrying out illegal connections.

Chan hoped that the commission would be able to resolve the power thefts issue fast.
