Satellite town for Liawan soon: Sairin

Mohd Khairy AbdullahKENINGAU: Agriculture and Food Industries Assistant Minister Datuk Sairin Karno said Liawan will soon have a satellite town.The town, according to him, will be developed on 30 acres.

"A discussion had been held by several parties, including the Land and Survey Department, to identify the area for the development project," he said.According to him, several government agencies will be placed at the new town for the convenience of the people, including a scientific research centre.He also said that there is also a suggestion to build a university by interested individuals. "So far, it is going well and the new town is expected to be able to solve the traffic jam in Keningau district," he said.

Meanwhile, he also urged the community to be involved in fields that are capable of producing high income."The people should not be focused in one field only. Instead, they should be more creative and courageous to indulge in other fields for the sake of their future," he said.
