Three primary schools to be rebuilt early next year

Construction work on three primary schools – SK Kiulu, Tuaran, SK Gadong, Beaufort and SK Bawang in Tamparuli that were gutted and also damaged by landslides, would tentatively begin early next year.State Education Director Datuk Jame Alip said a total funding of RM5 million has been channeled to repair and upgrade facilities at the three affected schools."Actually, there are some technicalities that need to be ironed out before construction work on the three primary schools could be carried out.

"In fact, a warrant on 10 vacancies for our technical team has been issued whereby we need a civil engineer, electrical and mechanical engineers as well as quantity surveyors, among others, to look after the projects on the technical aspect," he said.Jame said this in a press conference on the upcoming Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination at Wisma Pendidikan here.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Jame said technical team is needed to monitor and ensure the projects at the three schools as it is also part of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on procurement for government projects. To a question, he said if the projects at the three schools could start early next year, then it is expected to be completed middle of next year. – HD
