Koisun is back – as P'pang DO
Mary Chin KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Women's Advisory Council (MPWS) hailed the appointment of Luvita Koisun (pic) as the new Penampang District Officer succeeding William Sampil who retired recently.

Congratulating her on her promotion, MPWS Chairperson Datuk Mariati Robert said Friday, Koisun has vast experience in administration.

"Given her expertise, we are confident that she will execute her various tasks efficiently and effectively.

"We take this opportunity to thank the Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman for responding very promptly to our request for women district officers (DOs) towards achieving the goal of gender equity," she said.

Mariati, who is the State Attorney-General, made the request on behalf of MPWS during the State-level Women's Day celebration in Sandakan on September 6 this year.

She said this was yet another fine example of the State Government's readiness to consider and appoint qualified and capable women to decision-making positions.

The Council, Mariati said, looked forward to more appointments of women as DOs and Assistant District Officers (ADOs) in the years to come.

"These will provide the platform for the next echelon of senior women executives within the State Civil Service," she added.

Koisun is no stranger to Penampang, having served in the district as ADO in the eighties.

Following her stint as Matunggong ADO, she was promoted to be Kota Marudu District Officer until last year.

Prior to her current posting, she was made Principal Assistant Director of the Research & Development Division of the State Public Service Department (JPAN).
