Woman detained over murder of boy, 15, in S'kan
SANDAKAN: A 27-year-old woman has been detained to facilitate investigations on the murder of a 15-year-old boy on the ground floor of a shophouse in Jalan Batu Sapi, here, on Nov 10. District Police Chief ACP Zabidi Md Zain said the foreigner was detained at about 3.30pm on Nov 11 at a location not far from the crime scene.

Also seized were a 14-centimeter knife, a handbag and several pieces of gold jewellery.

On Nov 10, at about 5.20pm, the victim's mother decided to check on the boy when he failed to come downstairs, only to find him lying in a pool of blood inside one of the bedrooms.

She alerted her family members and together with a neighbour rushed the boy to the Duchess of Kent Hospital.

It was learnt that the boy, also a foreigner, succumbed to severe injuries to the neck while warded at the hospital.

The motive is believed to have been triggered by revenge.

In a separate case, police detained a group called 'Kumpulan Yasir', believed to be linked to a snatch theft case in front of a shop lot in Taman Anggerik, here, on Sept 19 this year.

Among items confiscated were a watch strap and two handphones.

The group is also believed involved in three robbery and two snatch theft cases in the district.

Police are currently tracking down four more members of the group.
