Chin calls for Chinese to unite for stronger voice
KOTA KINABALU: Chinese must be more united to obtain stronger voice in proposing their recommendations to the Government that leads towards a positive change, said Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Deputy President Senator Datuk Chin Su Phin.According to him, they do not deny that there are still weaknesses in the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, however, he believed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will listen if they were to unite and speak as one.

"I hope the voters, especially the Chinese, will be wise as they decided on the government that truly serve the people and capable of leading the nation towards a more prosperous future, he said.

Chin when speaking at the Opening Ceremony of LDP Central Youth and Women Annual General Meeting 2014 said the people should not blame the Government when they were given less allocations compared to previous years, considering that they have cast their votes in favour of the opposition.

"The Chinese must maintain their dignity. If you have supported the opposition in the General Election, do not blame the Government for less allocation," he said.

However, in Sabah, the State government continues to provide allocation for Chinese schools and non-Islamic religious bodies despite losing its support in Chinese-majority constituencies.

The people, including Chinese schools and religious bodies, should appreciate and be thankful for the financial assistance given by the Government, said Chin.

Later, he said, in order for BN to be stronger, all the component parties in the coalition must remain united and be treated equally apart from sharing equal powers.

"Some component parties have complained about the lack of power sharing in BN and we hope that our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak can address this matter," he said.

Towards the end, Chin urged the LDP Central Youth and Women Movements to play a more proactive role in politics.

"We must remain steadfast and willing to work hard because you are the successors of LDP and future leaders of our nation," he said.
