NGOs urged to help in 1M'sia mission

PAPAR: Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have been urged to continue to play a role in helping the Government realise the idea of 1Malaysia.Deputy Works Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin said NGOs are not exempt from the responsibility of developing the State and society.She said besides looking after the interests of members and implementing their social responsibility to the community, these organisations should work together with the Government to develop the country.

"In an effort to help the Government to make Malaysia a developed country, NGOs should be prepared to offer their services, as well as ideas for planning and implementing various activities that not only provide benefits to its members but also involves the local communities whether in education, religion, the economy or society," she said at the presentation of financial assistance to NGOs in the district and PTPTN loan offers to selected Papar students at the District Parliamentary Service Centre.Also present were Assistant District Officer (Administration), cum Papar Pemadam Deputy Chairman William Ahlan and State PTPTN Assistant Office Manager Bibi Zurainie Mintoh.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Rosnah, who is also Papar MP, said the Government will continue to assist registered NGOs to implement various programmes throughout the year.In the same vein, she also advised students who have received loans from the PTPTN fund to use the funds to pursue their higher education.
