Over 200 from S'kan schools get excellent awards

SANDAKAN: Over 200 students from two schools received Excellent Student Awards from Sekong assemblyman, Datuk Samsudin Yahya.The schools were SK Pulau Shanghai and SK Pulau Timbang, here.In his speech, Samsudin called upon parents and teachers to pay special attention to the children's development through a comprehensive and integrated approach. He said, children must be brought up correctly, as they are the future leaders of the country.

"Our education system is always undergoing transformation to guarantee a high quality of education.The government has allocated a substantial amount of money to the education sector which includes money for facility development, provision of school equipment and development of rural schools."He said parents should be more concerned about their children's academic achievement and be more involved with it.
